Quality of the Cold Steel Veitnam Tomahawk?

Hi guys I ordered a CS Vietnam Tomahawk a couple of days ago .Then I found this forum!!!...:) .I know it ain't a top of the line but is it OK? Is it Forged and made out of OK steel.??? Im deffinatly going to have to get a better one from one of the makers that visits here for Christmas to myself,ha ha .....Im very intersted in Nam.My Father inlaw there 1964-1965 .So thats what turned me on to the Tomahawk in general. Whats the real story behind them in Nam? Was they issued or just a personal item soldiers bought to carry??? Thanks for putting up with my million questions...WarDawg
 
I looked at your profile and saw that you like khukuris. Take a look at himalayan-imports.com and the forum here at Blade. Besides spreading the HI gospel I wanted to mention that I just got my first hawk from H&B Forge and I couldn't be more pleased. Nothing fancy, just a steel head and hickory handle.
 
Thanks for the tip on H I .I was turned on to them a couple of months back.I bought me an AK made by (Burma)(spelling).Its a nice piece of steel. Im going to have to get me a little lighter on for more like a defence purpose.WarDawg
 
I have a 18in Chitlangi by Bura, weighs 21 ounces and some of the weight is in the pommel so she's quick as a cat.
