I was interested in an ESEE Candiru or Izula, but for an EDC carry knife, I don't like the fact that the steel rust easily. Are there any quality Sandvik 13C26 blades made by a reputable company that comes with a kydex sheath and that's in the same $50 or less price point? If not and even though I really want a fixed blade neck knife, I'll "settle" for a folder, so can anyone then suggest a flat, drop point, Sandvik 13C26 steel kershaw with assisted opening?

Go with what you want. Get the ESEE and just keep up with maintenance. It's really not that hard, man. Clean it after you use it and coat it with a little oil before you put it away.

They are great knives and people use them all over the world, so I don't really think the rust issue is that big of a deal. Just my 2 cents.

Kershaw makes this little guy on the left out of Sandvik. Also made in U.S.A. comes with a leather sheath but I am sure there is a kydex bender here that can fix you up.

I gave my brother-in-law the bigger model 1082OR??? He uses it as his kitchen knife and no rust has developed in 2 months.

13C will rust fairly easily for a stainless. It does take nice edges for a stainless though.

You might want to take a look at some of the offerings from Helle, they use that type of steel a lot. Also the Muela Kodiak and Rhino but maybe they are a bit big for your needs
