Quality Sheaths..Who makes them?

Can anyone point me to someone who makes real good quality leather or synthetic sheaths? I want one for a Nimravus Cub and maybe even something for a new BM 730.

Thanks.

Jon

I highly reccomend Mike Sastre of River City Sheaths. He will custom make A concealex sheath for any folder or fixed blade. I have several and love them! As A matter of fact I am having one made for my new custom as I write this. He is now using the new tek-lok to give better carry options. You can reach him by e-mail here:

BTW welcome to the forums! Cheers, B

I agree that Eric...aka Normark, makes excellent sheaths and for the Nimravus Cub it would be a good combination, especially since I've stopped fixed blade sheath making and only work with the folders.

The 730, just took a look at one of James Mattis scans, would be a good canidate for a leather sheath, horizontal style, haven't made one for them yet but like the looks of it!

ps Thanks Senator!

Gary, your stuff looks nice! When I get ready/decide for sure how I want to carry the 730, I will for sure get in touch with you if a sheath is the way I decide on. I just got one and am not sure yet how I will carry it. I used a clip-on spyderco mariner before and lost it.... not too excited about losing another $100 knife. So, a sheath might be the way to go.

I also agree after seeing the pictures on his site, that Normarks fixed blade sheaths look great! Does anyone have his email address? I want to get in touch with him.

Thanks!

Jon

Eric's email is

ericn@mnsi.net

By the way, the sheaths I make don't allow for the clips, so keep that in mind.

Do not have one myself, (yet), but I have heard nothing but good about the man and his work: G2, Gary Graley.

G2 makes first rate sheaths.

Kenny Rowe also makes top shelf stuff. He makes them for many makers here on the forums.

Do you have Kenny's e-mail address? Or, if he reads this, he can e-mail me: jon@jpcorp.com

Thanks!

Considering he's family, I can't help but put in a plug for my dad, Niels Qvist.
He, in my humble opinion makes some excellent leather work. Anything you want made, belts, sheaths, gun holsters, purses, checkbooks, you name it.
All handmade construction, oak/vegetable-tanned leather, handstitching with a raylene thread that won't rot and so on.
Here's a link with a bunch of pictures of his work. http://albums.photopoint.com/j/AlbumIndex?u=219056&a=6578335

I didn't do any of the leather work in those pictures, but I did do two of the knives.
Any kind of decoration can be put on the sheath, or it can be left plain.
Up to you. If you like what you see and would like to know more, send me an email and I'll get back to you.

The Kydex guy that everyone was talking about at this years Blade Show was Frank Sigman of S&S Enterprises.

Your going to be seeing a lot of his work as OEM Sheaths from major manufacturers in the coming year.

Unfortunately I didn't get a good shot of his work, but you can see part of a couple of his sheaths in this shot of a Jones Brothers "Serpent".
