Quality Straight Razors For Only Us $ 30.00

hmmm...judging by how the razor looks, I'd say contract ground by either Dovo or Hen & Rooster. Cheap plastic handles pinned on at their site probably to call it manufactured by them. A better question Wade, would be what kind of steel is it made from (the chemical analysis, not the technical name) and how is it heat treated... Trust me, a $30 straight razor is a difficult feat to accomplish with any quality! We may pay $30 for antique straight razors on ebay these days, but back in the day...those things cost! :)

btw, I lurk here a lot, but this is my first post in this forum...

Darren - you're a shoe-in for this forum.....there ought to be a roosting spot just for you....:D

Last time I checked, advertising on Bladeforums was restricted to Dealers and Knifemakers......shouldn't be a big deal for a large company such as VenusWorldWide to pony up for a Dealer's membership. Could mean a lot of sales generated here at bladeforums. ;)

Reading the material on the website, it says high carbon...also mentions have 0.6% (or more) carbon.....but at the bottom of the page, says stainless is easier to maintain. So, I'm still not sure what the blade material is.....but since there are instructions to keep it oiled, then it's probably safe to assume it's not stainless....

Our Straight Razors are made up of high carbon steel,The razor's blades begin with High Carbon Forged Silver Steel blanks that have been Fire Tempered for Hardness and Superior Edge Holding ability. The blades then take shape in the hands of a Master Craftsman who shapes and grinds the blanks into semi-finished 5/8 Full Hollow Ground blades. The blade's finishing includes: Custom File Work to create the Jimps on the Upper and Lower edge of the shank; Decorative and Brand Stamps on the front and rear of the shank; Polishing to a mirror finish front and rear; Gold Decorative Etching on the Blade and only then final sharpening and polishing.Every bit of the many generations of experience that went into this razor's making is immediately evident when you hold it in your hand. And rest assurred - It will provide the finest shave possible for many generations to come!
We have seen that US comapanies are selling our straight razors for US $ 200 to 300 with their own brand name ,It was the demand of our valuable customers that why not you supply these razors on retail bases,as we are ourself manufacturing these razors,no middle man,so price is very low.We know US customers are happy to pay US$ 200 for the same razor rather than buying at 30 directly from us.Our low prices are not a big deal to evaluate our quality,we give you 14 days money back gurantee,Hope this will help.

Yes,We are manufacturing High carbon Sliver steel Razors, not of Stainless steel,Commonly straight razors are made up of carbon steel in all over the world, which is easy to grind, honed, sharped and stropped rather than chromium steel which takes much longer time and effort to be honed.

Thanks Dan. :) Yeah, this forum is right up my alley, but alas, as you've probably noticed I haven't been posting much lately....too much time on the internet takes away from shop time! :) You guys get moved and your new shop set up yet?

I'd have to agree with this too...if a little guy like me can help support the forums, then a Big company in Pakistan should be able to for sure before spamming a forum.

Hm, I've heard the opposite about Pakistan razors. :barf: The $200-300 razors I've seen come from France and Germany.

On the yahoo straightrazorplace forum they have had nothing but bad things to say about razors from pakistan. They also seemed to think that the venus razors were less then a quality shaving product. So buyer beware. If you want a less expensive razor you can shave with I've seen Dovo razors for as low as $44.99.

I picked up one of the cheaper Dovo's in that price range, a 6/8". It's my most frequently used razor! :)

Hello There,
I just bought straight razor VWrz-100g from Venus .They have fullfilled all the basic requirements that a quality razor should have.I am always in search of quality razors, though Dovo Razors are producing quality but i dont think so these are cheaper as well.I am really surprised to have such quality at only US$ 30.00.Welldone Venus.

I have a cheap pakistan razor. Got it to practice the sharpening motion used for straight razors. Worked great for that. It also does a good job of opening mail, well, letters anyway. But shave with it? No thanks. My face may not be anything special, but it's the only one I got. I'd kind of like to keep it where it is now. Plus, my wife would kill me if I got blood all over the bathroom.

PS

micos, just a friendly warning. People here tend to have very suspicious minds. When someone's first post is in defense of a company selling a suspect product and in a thread where that same company is ripping off Bladeforums by not paying for their advertising, people tend to think nasty thoughts. Thoughts like "I bet it's the same person." or "I bet micos works for Venus" . Which leads to thoughts like "I'll never buy anything from Venus" or "Do they really think we're that stupid" or "Maybe if we laugh at them enough the'll just go away" or "Why dosen't a mod just delete this obvious spam". Things like that. Now I know you were just trying to help out your budies at Venus who you, of course have no financial ties to. But really, in a situation like this, its best to be quite.

Darren - yes, we're moved in. But I still haven't finished unpacking my shop. Your khukuris are here in a box ready to go. :D

I wonder how long it will take until this thread gets noticed by the mods....maybe we're doing a good enough job self-policing it....VWW has been properly instructed. And I'd really like to know who micos is.....interesting first post. If you're legit....Welcome to Bladeforums!

your wife and my wife would get along nicely....

Cleanliness first...
