I know a lot of folks here are always on the look out for well-made, tough slip-joints. Well, I think I found some beauties at eknifeworks.com. They have Shapleigh cattle/stockman pattern knives (blades are clip, coping and awl) with natural handles, rounded bolsters, brass liners, nickel silver pins/bolsters/shield. Size: 3-5/8" closed. It says the blades are "Solingen steel," whatever that means. But I can't imagine they're stainless. Handle materials include buffalo horn, ivory and mother of pearl. They also offer stag but it's listed as out of stock. According to the site, these were "discovered in the old factory stock of the closed Krusius Brothers factory. They were probably made sometime in the late 1940s to early 1950s. The Shapleigh brand name was discontinued on cutlery in 1960." I have no connection to eknifeworks.com, just thought I'd help out anyone looking for a well-made pocketknife.
