I'm not familiar with the one-piece fixed blade CRK knives. Can someone tell me how the edge holding is and general quality of these knives. Any info would be appreciated...thanks

I have a Project 1, and it's great. The edge holding is very good, and the quality of both the knife and the sheath is top notch. I think the only complaint that I've heard more than once about them is the metal handle is hard on the hands in really cold weather.

thanks for the info guys, and PiterM, thats the knife I'm looking to purchase. Great pics and story. Much thanks....

Well, I don't know. If there is so cold outside (like last week with -10C in Poland) than I always wear some gloves anyway. So... that's really co concern at all in fact. 1-piece knives are top-notch cutlery.

another myth imho, a2 handle, g-10, t6 ... all of them handles unconfortable in cold weather, my advice is - as PiterM wrote - wear gloves.

And about CRk quality, well i own Sebenza and Shadow3 - both of them were absolutely perfect out of the box (grind, Seb's lockup, etc.).

It's extremely hard to find anyother knives that are better done. Quality is superb in Chris Reeve Knives! As to edge holding - heat treating is really good, you won't be complaining, never. They are high-class stuff so no wonder why is it so.

I've heard complaints about vibration when you're doing very heavy cutting (chopping wood) but any sort of wrap on the handle softens that out nicely.

I just got a Mk VI, OD green, and it is awesome! The workmanship is flawless. I can't wait to use it. and by the way, It was made on my 40th birthday....Is that a sign or what. (at least that's what I told my wife :-) ) Thanks so much for the help all... :)
