I received a 4Seven's Quark AA2 flashlight and it has quickly become my favorite flashlight. It runs on 2 AA batteries and has a maximum output of 170 lumens. Some features that make it my favorite outdoor/camping/backpacking light include.

1) A Moonlight mode of .2 lumens that runs for 30 continuous days or 360 days for 2 hours a night

2) A reversible pocket clip

3) A Beacon mode that flashes at regular intervals to help you or others (re)find your camp (perfect for the late night cat hole or visit)

4) Uses the same AA batteries that I use in my GPS and 2 way radios

5) Waterproof to IPX-8 standards (it will survive a dunk in the water)

Like I said above, this is my favorite new outdoor flashlight. I would like to do a pass around for regular W&SS contributors. Anyone interested? All I ask is that you ship with delivery confirmation and insured for $60.

That's is a sweet looking light. It looks like the perfect setup for hiking and general use. I would prefer a shorter, single AA, for EDC use though but without actually using it I can't say for sure though.

I can't take part in the passaround due to time constraints but I look forward to reading the reviews. Also thanks for offering up this passarond, offers like this make this board awesome.

I might be interested. I'm currently looking for a new EDC for my Maxpedition Jumbo that can be used defensively and uses AA's instead of CR123's. My requirements: LED, super bright, pocket clip, useable as a kubaton or strike weapon, durable, strobe mode, very very low light mode for regular use, easy interface, clickie or reverse clickie. This may fit the bill.

I haven't figured out how to post pictures though, so I may not be the best person for this.

Kage, don't worry about pictures. I think this light fits your list of needs perfectly.

170 lumens

durable
strobe
Moonlight Mode

PM me your address and I'll get it right out to you. You can be #1. If you could just post a mini review after using it 7-10 days, that would be great.

Thanks,
BBT

Thanks for the chance to try it out BBT, it's much appreciated. I'll use it extensively, but I won't in any way abuse it (I got a chance to beta test the Pelican M6 lights when they first came out and were the only competition to SureFire. Destroyed 2 of them during military testing, but I'll be gentle with your baby).

I'll email you right now and keep an eye on this as to who I send it off to next.

4Sevens also has a single AA version, the Quark AA.

PM with info sent.

While I may not be the ultimate tester, I would certainly appreciate the opportunity to try one of these out. Thanks Brian for the opportunity

Bruce, I know you really use your gear. Looking forward to seeing what you think of it. You'll get the light after kage.

I'm amazed that no one else is jumping on this. This is a great opportunity to try a potentially great light for free.

I'll bump this back to the top.

Looks like i need to start contributing more around BF so i can take part in some of these awesome pass arounds and giveaways .

That looks like a sweet light, but i would like it even more if it had a memory. So you could set it to turn on with whichever your preferred mode.

Guess what the mailman delivered?!!

I got the Quark AA2 today and I'm pretty excited about it. So far it looks great and the user interface is simple enough. I've carried it clipped in my pocket with me since I got it and I'll be giving it a good run for the money this weekend.

Stay tuned!

RedbeAR15: send me a PM with your addy and I'll get it sent off next week.

Thanks again for including me in on this passaround. I did some checking and apparently these are like the Fenix lights where the stock bodies can be interchanged. Got this reply from 4-sevens:

To whom it may concern,

I have a question about your Quark line of flashlights. I see that you sell the stock bodies for different sized lights. Are these interchangable with other lights that use the same battery type? For example, can you take a Quark AA2 and switch to a Quark AA by just switching the stock bodies out? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Garrett,
You are correct, the 123, 1xaa, 2xaa models are all interchangeable.

Thought it might interest some of you.:D
