I have heard lots of good and bad regarding this brand over the past year or so. A lot of the news I heard was bad, due to the outrageous designs from some of the first four out the door. Like six thumb studs on the Hannibal. I did own one and it was huge.
Anyway, back to this knife. I again heard good and bad. Sticky lock, off center blades, lock slipping, rough pivot, etc. When I got this one, it did have the off center blade and some lock slip. I really like the feel and look so I decided to give it a chance. It uses a Strider style pivot and pocket clip screw. I decided to throw caution to the wind and take it down. The first thing I noticed was four pivot washers. Three thicker ones and a very thin one, all bronze (?). The lock face on the blade was super smooth and the lock face on the lock bar was very rough and jagged. I touched up both of them very slightly for better contact. This made the lock slipping completely disappear. The off center blade was easily fixed by swapping out the thin and thick washers to find a good center. The only other thing I noticed after re assembly was that this knife does require lubrication on the pivot. I know there are many out there that say they do not need lube, just wash them out with soap and water, dry, and you are good to go. Not so with this. That would be the rough, sticky feeling pivot. I used my favorite TW25B for lube on the pivots and washers. I used the same when I have CRK knives and it worked perfect. Now this has some great action, good detent, solid lock up and good centering.
This will be a definite piece in my EDC rotation. It seems very solid, but remains light and compact. It sort of reminds me or a CRK that most will not be worried about scratching and scuffing. I was surprised with this knife after some of the past models, but this one does stand out. I will give it an A grade since it required some simple tuning out of the box. This is just my $.02 and I would love to hear other peoples feelings as well. thanks for reading.
Here are pics after the work was done.

Thanks for the review.
I've been eyeballing this one for a while now. I don't mind taking down new knives.
Cheers

Great review. I have a Roper and have been carrying it for a few months. I took mine apart, polished the washers, and oiled the pivot. After all that and some use the knife is really smooth. The lock up has been solid from day one as well.

It seems like everyone who has good things to say about this knife did take it down and do a little finish work. Still a little rough around the edges when new, but worth the extra little effort.
