Ya'll know how I love the big Cattle Kings, but even I admit that I held off buying one of these Forest Edge Derin Queen ones, most pictures online made it look kinda dark green. When it was announced recently that Queen is discontinuing it's entire delrin lines, I though I better get off my butt and get one, before they dry up. I gotta say that when I opened the box I was pleased, the pictures I had seen didn't do it justice. It's really more of a rich 2 tone brown that is kinda cool.

Very nice!

Pardon my ignorance, but what differentiates a Cattle King from a Stockman?

-- Sam

Size, most makers call their 4 1/4" long closed Stockman patterns "Jumbo" or "Extra Large". Queen calls their #49 pattern a "Cattle King".

I like that pattern too, but I wish... (I mean MY WIFE wishes) y'all would quit posting pretty pictures of knives.

Yep - that's a spitting image of the one and only stockman I have left (I have been sliding towards trappers, canoes, and a few misc. others for a while now). FWIW, here's a repost of a few of the winterbottom/forest edge Queens I have/had at one time:

My "Cattle King" is in the lower left.

Those are some good lookin Delrin stockeds.

I felt the same about the Delrin winterbottom handled knives I'd seen until I got one from a generous fellow forumite. Darn nice little knives and I appreciated the scales a lot more. They especially made for a nice looking, easy to carry knife. I like my stags and such, but nearly every stag slippie I have weighs just heavy enough in my pocket to cause me to leave them at home.

Good catch, TLC!

And that "family" of Forest Edges there is quite nice.

I have one of these, though the color delrin on mine is more uniformly dark dark brown, almost black. It is one of my all time favorite slipjoints that I have. It is of a size that just screams "USE ME"! It took a little work to give a satisfactory edge on all three, but now is quite sharp. If you don't have one, get one NOW!

Very good looking knife. I may have to grab one of those while they are still available.

These knives seem to be drying up pretty quickly. I bought two of the whittlers afther hearing they were discontinued, but had a hard time finding them.
