I did the search and came up with nothing.

I am somewhat interested in this Barlow. Anyone have one? they look good but of course that could be a different story when you receive it. are they on par with some of the better Barlows? I would like to add one to my Barlow collection.
Thanks in advance.

I bought one to try out the pattern and I thought it was on par for the price. The pull is pretty easy and both the half stop and fully open are solid. The blade is centered but it's twisted just a little along the spine. You only notice it when it's closed and look down the spine. For the money I think it was a good purchase and it let me test a pattern to see if I liked it before spending money on a more expensive one. I found I didn't like the pattern though so I gave it to my youngest son for his first traditional knife and he seems to like it. If you need pictures of the spine I could post some tonight after I get off work for you.

Thanks d_wade
that's kind of where im at on the Queen. not sure of im going to like it but it looks allrite.

S&M winterbottom bone. spear blade. loved the look and the bone. bought it for a user. typical normal everyday use. decent price. carried about two weeks and what started out as glimmer of blade wobble only got worse. felt even unsafe to use. could slip 2 sheets of printer paper between the liner and tang. tang looked thinner at one end. sits on a shelf and one of many GEC's are back in pocket.

I had one with buffalo horn handles. I really liked the knife, but there was a gap between the horn and the bolster. I was a little shaky on that, because I know that horn can be unstable and I couldn't be sure if it was just that the piece got cut short or if the horn was moving. I ended up sending it back, but was sorry to see it go. I'll be picking up another ASAP, as I really liked the knife except for that one problem.

Thanks guys for the reviews, I am looking at the 2 blade bone stag version from KSF, it looks good but man I hating buying knives I cant handle first!

I have a couple of 69s, and really like them both. I recommend it highly, despite Queen's rep for inconsistantcy.

Yes, see my post No.164 in the Queen 2015 thread that cairndude referenced.

I'm delighted with the 69 Workhorse in carbon and delrin. No build issues at all and an excellently made inexpensive work-knife which is the essence of the Barlow.

Thanks, Will

Here is a Robeson stamped Barlow which was made by Queen on the #69 pattern. Decent knife for the money. No blade play and nice bone covers.

And then there is this Cripple Creek Bomber Jack. Also made by Queen in D2 steel and nice bone covers. Very nice fit and finish on this one. Seems a lot better than the Robeson stamped knife. This is also made on the #69 frame.

I have a Schatt & Morgan #69 Barlow in Winterbottom Bone and I am very happy with it. I think it was well worth the money.

Harry
