I have heard about Robeson, Schatt & Morgan, and the regular queen name. I was in a old junk dealer type shop and found a display with "Real McCoy" on the knives. Had the Queen "Q" on the blade tang. I think it had red delrin handles. I think I saw A four inch stockman. There were others too. Anyone knows anything about these I would appreciate it. I plan on going to take another look soon. Lots of old Queen knives creeping around there I think.

I do not know the Real McCoy brand, but Queen is contracted by many other companies to make knives for them. These contract brands are quite often collected as a sub category when one collects the knives of the actual manufacturer such as Queen.

Edited for spelling.

I thought I had seen or knew about all of the knives Queen had contracted over the years but this is a new one on me. Could you describe the exact marlings, both how and where the Real McCoy is put on (blade etch, handle imprint?), also exactly what the Queen tang stamp is. Knowing the exact Queen tang stamp could help date the knives. Were they wired on a display panel? Any info or address on McCoy on the display? How many patterns? This sounds very interesting, could be a rare piece.

I think iyt said Real McCoy on the silver shield on the handle. The blade (Main) had the Queen "Q". I think there was another of the same brand. Other queens in the case too. The place is not far, I will try to check it out in the next few days. Perhaps I will go buy it on Thursday and post a pic. The other queens looked to have been there quite a while too. The store buys inventory from insurance salvage companies. Probably got the whole case of knives 30 years ago in a fire sale. just guessing.

I didn't know who was making them, but I remember seeing Real McCoy knives in many Smoky Mountain Knife Works catalogs. Whoever made them, there are probably a number out there. Of course all it would take is for someone to put a Queen blade in a McCoy handle to make a unique piece. You could always call either Queen or SMKW to find out.
