This is the latest edition to my Mountain Man/#3L family, I picked it up NIB from a fellow knife nut for a REALLY good price.

It's a "Queen Classics" limited edition jigged brown bone.

From what I have been able to research this morning, there were only either 14 or 25 of these made.
 
I do believe you have a bit of a thing for those! ;) Just make sure you don't say out loud around the wrong folks that you have a thing for mounten men! Don't want them thinking bout that movie! :eek:

Seriously though, I can see why you like those so much. Really knice pattern. I wouldn't mind a few of those around myself.
 
I have several Queen's in D2 and 1095 both, The D2 will give you more corrosion resistance for sure, it will be harder to sharpen, but will hold it's edge longer than the 1095.

But the 1095 is such a great classic steel that it's hard to pass it over.

If I "had" to choose between them, I would probably take D2.

Since putting this up, I did confirm that this is one of only 14 ever made.

All 14 were bought from Queen and sold through Bill Horn at Cumberland Knife Works. I e-mail him about it and he thinks these may be the rarest #3L's to date.

Needless to say, I won't use this one!
 
What price range can we expect to see these in if we do encounter one?

Well, when they first came out in Jan. 2005 they sold for $79.00 I believe, I kinda lucked out and got this one from the person that bought it new from Bill for $50.00.

I didn't find out until after I bought it how rare it was. I sorta wonder if the person that sold it to me knew????
