I have been cold turkey on buying slip joints but my lust for a canoe is just tooooo strong. I love my Case stockman but lately we have been installing alot of equipment that requires alot more cutting. My cv blades get super sharp but kind of dulled abit quick. I will still carry it always but I wanted something with a longer lasting edge. I was looking at this Queen Cutlery: Canoe--Aged Honey Amber Stag Bone--64ACSB. It is at the price I can afford and its a Canoe. Are there any other canoes that you might recommend in the same price range or maybe even less that will fit the bill?

Thanks guys!!

p.s. I was thinking of making myself a small sheeps foot out of A2 but I want a canoe.:o

Hi,

Well, ruling out the Case Canoe in CV, Boker should have one in carbon steel. Though Boker's C75 is about the same as Case CV from my personal experience. I would think that a Queen in D2 would be about as tough an edge as you could get in a production Canoe. Besides, the aged honey amber bone stag they use is sooo nice!!

I have lots of experience with CV and 154 CM but none with D2 as of yet. I am looking forward to comparing it. Queen Canoe in D2, how could you go wrong there.

There you go again, encouraging me to do evil.:D

The Queen Canoe is worth it. The D2 like all the other D2 I have dealt with is quite hard and can feel dull to my finger tips even when hair shaving sharp (D2 is weird to me). With a little attention (light careful honing) I can give it that flesh biting feel as well.

My Canoe, to my surprise came with an alright edge and great fit and finish. It's a pleasure to handle and use.

Yeah it is!!

I'm going to tell on myself! I had a aged honey amber bone Queen Canoe and for what ever reason I let it go. I regret it as it was supper nice!

Queens D2 is quite good,I have two Stockmans' from Queen. You have to sharpen the Heck out it,as both of mine came real dull.Nothing my DMT diamond bench stones'did'nt cure though.Once you put your own edge on,it'll stay on with minor touchups. In other words,I like Queens D2 alot.

Queen amber bonestag is IMHO the best production bone scales out there, and with D2 well its really a done deal:D I have one and its one of my faves in the line up! Just pop for one and earn yerself a great big "ATTA BOY"

All this is making me want a QC Muskrat...

Do I need it? No. Can I concentrate properly at the moment? No....

Already poped for one from KSF! Now its just a waiting game.

I see you took my challenge. :p Ok, I will visit Collectorknives.net and buy one from Mike L. I am telling my wife that it is your fault I bought this knife. I may even spin it as a stimulus package buy. Waiting is so bittersweet. I can't believe you called me on it. :D

If you would have triple dog dared me I would have bought two, too late for that now. I just like the idea of supporting the online stores that have given me great service.

Thanks for stopping by our store!

I have a Queen Canoe in my pocket right now. It is razor sharp (lots of work!) and it holds an edge like it should.

You won't be disappointed!

Ditto my friend! I have a problem, because I have a few on line dealers that are great, and I struggle with who to buy from. I am almost afraid to find any other good ones. LOL.

Well, to coin a phrase: This thread is useless without pics!

I have a strong feeling that my next purchase just might be that Canoe, as well, once I get a handle on the D2 in my new Congress. Love that stag!

So let it be written, so let it be done. I will post a picture of mine once it arrives.

Me too! Derrick I told a friend of mine today about the canoe and he is about as weak as I am in the will power category and ordered one from you too. Thanks for the great service!!!!
