I have bought several knives in the past couple weeks; Case Amber Bone CV stockman as a gift, Case Sodbuster Jr CV and a Case barehead slimline trapper. All great purchases. I also received a Queen Canoe, crimson, form Cumberland and was very impressed and still am. Very nice fit and finish, sharp and just a beauty of a knife. It's blades are big and beefy but the knife if slim and rides well in the pocket. I am very pelased with the Christmas gift I picked out for my wife to buy me!

I need to figure out how to take well lite pics without glare and I'll post some pics.

I am not a photographer, but my secret is going to a place outside where the sunlight is diffused. A covered back or front porch is ideal. This way you get all the benefits of the best ambient lighting and none of the glare..

Or you could go spend some $$$$'s on lighting equipment and photo boxes and do up a mini studio.

Good Luck and please post some pic's when you get them.

Congrats on your purchases!
I don't have any Queen knives, but since I've rekindled an interest in the old-school patterns and bought a Case mini-trapper, I've also pulled out a Case red bone Canoe that I rarely took out of its box these many years. I'm thinking of occasionally alternating carrying that with the mini-trapper, because the canoe feels exceptionally comfortable in hand and in pocket. Plus, the combo of extra-solid large/small spear-point blades makes for a great cutter.

Congrats on the new knife. I just got my first Queen yesterday, A Red Stag Peanut from another member.. I really like it, and am now looking at other Queens. Seem like nice knives

I just got one of those beauties a while back myself. I wonder if anyone can make a comparison to the Case and/or Boker canoes. This was the first canoe I've owned and absolutely love the form. I feel the need to buy more.

Don't tell anyone, but the Case Classics harness jack from Cumberland looks awesome, too.

IMHO Case and Boker canoes aren't anywhere near as nice as Queen's.

The Harness Jack is, indeed, "awsome". The Harness Jack is a fine old pattern that got sidelined when people started to do less work on (get ready!) animal harness. However, nearly all of the larger SAKs have leather punches and, from what I can gather, these punches tend to be used much more than, say, these knives' can openers! Go figure!

All that having been said, the canoe pattern and the similarly sized Sunfish are my favorites but my Harness Jacks get a fair amount of carry time, too.

I didn't know that there was a Case Classic, Harness Jack.
Queen has made 3 different HJ's but I haven't seen a Case Classic (even though Queen made the Case Classics)

Don't gotta be sorry. I just thought maybe I was missing something.
Btw- all those Queen Hj's are Waynorth's children.

Gotta agree with you!

Bought a Queen Bird's Eye Maple Canoe from Cumberland about a month ago.
Very pleasantly surprised as how nice and slim it is, as you said.
Has a real nice weight to it as well.

And the D2 blades were sharp right out the box; another pleasant surprise.
Didn't even need a touchup.

A great slipjoint knife from Queen Cutlery.

I have a Queen gunstock in the mail that should be showing up any time now. It will be my first Queen.

Just came in from the mail box with a box from Cumberland. In it was a S&M Wire & File English Jack and a S&M Winterbottom Barlow (both made my Queen of course). The fit and finish on these two knives was far more than I expected. I sure do like the size of the Barlow. The English Jack is a heavy rascal, but it will get some carrry time in the back pocket. I can see I need to "stock up" on a few more...
