Queen country cousin backspring broke

I have a country cousin I use in a regular rotation as an edc knife. This morning I opened it and half way into opening I heard a snap and the blade flopped open. I was amazed that the spring broke, the knife has only had light use and has not been abused. I can't even imagine you could break the spring by opening a knife with your fingernail. The knife is less then a year old. I really liked the knife with the d2 blade. Well anyhow I am going to call Queen tomorrow and see if they will exchange it.

These things happen from time to time with knives, I'm sure they'll make it right for you. Can you see any imperfections in the spring? an air bubble or machining mistake or something like that perhaps.
