It's been a while since I've collected any pocket knives and I'm wondering if Queen knives are as quality made as the were 10 or 15 years ago. How do they compare to Case knives now? I like some of my case knives but the quality is hit or miss. I have 3 Winchester knives that were made by Queen in the late 80s and they are nice except the Moose pattern has a very heavy pull
I would rate it an 8+ out of 10.

Queen shut down a couple months ago. Queen and Queen City are now SMKW brands.

The "Queen" appear to be made offshore. The "Queen City" (only a red bone full size trapper in the line the last time I looked) was US made. I don't know by who. Maybe Bear and Son?

Shatt & Morgan are no longer affiliated with Queen, and is supposed to begin production in either Ohio or Michigan (I forget which) sometime in 2021, according to the new owner of the brand.

From what I've seen here at BF, Queen's QC has been/was hit or miss the last few years. I don't know if that applies to the Queen made S&M line. I don't recall a lot of discussion on them here.

Queen is out of business as you knew it. The name and machinery were purchased at a bankruptcy sale and I believe they are currently resurrecting the business.

I haven’t seen any new Queen knife sales recently except for NOS and had no idea SMKW purchased the brand rights. If a company offshore is making them I wouldn’t purchase. The few NOS I purchased the past few years to me are like 2nds and I won’t purchase anymore , it’s hit or miss to get a quality knife. Gilbert Cooper purchased the S&M brand and the plan is to manufacture knives out of Ohio and the first knife is projected to be released in 2021.
