I just received a Queen Cutlery 48 Cocobolo from a contest here at Blade forums. I am very impressed, this is my first Queen piece and so far I love it. It is a well made knife and has a nice weight to it (I forgot how much I miss nice heavy wood scales). The blades are all sharper then a razor, the hair flies off my arm. I like the way the springs are set up too, real well done. Lockup it nice and tight with no play. From now on if i'm looking for a nice traditional style folder Queen is it. I really thought if I wanted a knife like my fathers old Schrade I would have to buy a custom, but this knife is like I remember knives being years ago.

glad you like it. The blade came very dull - so you can now attest to the benefit of a reprofile with a lansky diamond hone and a 20 degree Sharpmaker microbevel :)

How did you do 20* on the sharpmaker? I thought the lowest they went was 30*. Anyway, thank you Sting, I love it. Has a very nostalgia feel to it. I can't decide if I should carry it or put it in my display case. :o

hmmm, I was gonna say.......

I have lately gotten reinterested in slipjoints, and one of the first that I bought was a Queen Cocobolo (#40, D2 blades).

Fine knife, but it came dull as hell, by my standards. First thing was to reprofile those blades. Now it's fine.

I guess that's just one of the things you have to put up with..........

Spyderco 40 is 20 per side.

I usually reprofile to somewhere between 15-18 and then put a microbevel of 20 per side (40 total)

carry it!
