Anyone have one of these?

First impressions: fairly good workmanship. I requested from the seller that it be checked for blade play. The one I got still had slight lateral play, no vertical backward play (it's a slipjoint). Not very sharp, since it's D2 steel, internet literature and forumites say it will take some effort to sharpen appropriately.

The clip point shape is visually pleasing (to my tastes). Still a little bummed by slight lateral play, but looking at its construction, the thin metal divider that divides the two blades probably is not rigid enough so it slightly yields to light lateral forces. Is this common to old style slipjoints?

Thanks in advance for any responses.

or you will always be second guessing yourself... on an old slipjoint it wouldnt be a big deal but on a new one i wouldnt be too pleased, i have 5 Case patterns and none of them have any blade play
If it bothers you and it sounds like it is, send it back.
Nice pattern by the way:)
that thin metal is the brass liner and the movement probably isnt do to that, although one never knows
good luck to ya slipjoints are a wonderful way to spend all your dough:D

If there's side to side blade play, you can tap the sides of the pivot with a hammer to tighten it, and Queen blades often come dull out of the box, but you can reprofile it with some coarse stones or sandpaper.
