Hey fellows!
I picked up an old Queen Cutlery hatchet from a guy I know yesterday.
It is a hatchet in the 'cedar' pattern with a sheath.
Does anyone here have any info about this?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks :)

A Queen double bit saddle ax sold for @$120 with shipping. It appeared to be in better shape than this hatchet. It is probably worth more as a collector than a user.

Thanks operator!
Any idea about collector value?

Hey Bearman, Probably more than your average marked axe, lots of Keen Kutter collectors out there. You should not redo the hatchet if you want to get best bucks out of it, most vintage knife guys don't want restored.

Regards

Not very common - though they are out there. Titusville is about 1.5 hours from my house - the birth place of oil and queen cutlery. They also made a very small cruiser axe, or I should say WATCo made it for them. Value wise, well that's up to the guy who owns it and the guy who wants to buy it.

Queen is actually associated with Ontario Knife Co now - based out of NY, I believe Franklinville. They still make products, though I am not sure to what level, and to what degree if everything is made in USA. I believe it is, but I am not 100% sure on that.

Thanks!

Bear -

I talked to mty buddy out here about Queen Cutlery - and Warren did indeed make their hatchets and axes. He described your hatchet perfectly to me, and I had only told him you acquired a hatchet - nothing else. He also states Warren made a very small cruiser - about 1 lb and only 6 inches across for Queen, and interesting, also for Case at one time.

His friend that worked at Queen one time showed him the wooden crate the hatchets and axes came in from WATCo. Good stuff.

Hope this helps.

Thanks!

Do you know if they have much collector value?
