Got this half whittler today. Nice Queen Dan Burke with winterbottom bone & D2.
No wiggle, half stop on the small blade. Only thing- that "famous" Queen edge...:thumbdn:
Other than that, very sweet piece.
Once I spend some time sharpening it, I will really love carrying it and using it.

I've been wanting one of those. Nice score.

I have one just like it and it's a great knife. Are you sure it's D2? I've seen a lot of web sites listing it as D2 but I've never seen one marked D2. Is yours marked D2? Mine is Sandvik 12c27. Thanks for posting.

That's what I remember seeing as well. Sandvik for the Winterbottom bone series, D2 for the Barlows, and BG-42 for doctors' knife.

It's 12c27. Easy way to test it. Cut up a tomato or other similar food. If it stains, it's D2. Also, D2 doesn't take as fine an edge. You'll see after you sharpen it.

One of the online stores has the Dan Burke two blade Congress marked as D2. Everyone else is marking them as 12C27.

D2 doesn't stain quite that easily...

Roger that, Stumpy.
