I have a fairly new Queen Electrician's knife, typical pattern: main spear blade, locking screwdriver, black plastic scales. Are these still being made by Queen? Who's making them, or who made them, for Queen? I love the feel of this knife, but I can't find any info on it, only on the regular Queen slipjoints.

thx - cpr

Klein Tools has them in SS and Carbon
I have no idea who makes them

Klein are the best electrical hand tools

My knife is a Colonial, when I purchased it in the early 70s, it was the only brand that was available in all the NYC Electrical Supply Houses

Thanks; I actually have a couple of the Klein knives. I bought the Queen on a whim, and it turned to be very nicely made for a working knife, with some differences. (Round bolster, recessed scale/liner for the fingernail to reach the screwdriver, etc.) I'm just really curious about it.

thx - cpr

Queen had a black handled electricians knife in their regular catalog product line in the 1990's maybe up until about 1996 or 1998. Queen's version would have been stainless steel, probably 440A at that time.

I have also seen the Queen made electricians knife in black handles marked OK on the tang for Ontario Knife Company, Queen's sister company.

Good info, ya'll - thanks!

I was just wondering if I had stumbled upon an antique that should be 'safed', rather than used. It's gotten a few days pocket time, and it's a great user.

thx - cpr

LOL.

The old city I live in is called Safat, an alternate spelling is "Safed".

So when I read your post I had no idea, why you were writing about where I live, until I understood: safed = put in a safe....
