I'm getting mighty tempted by one of these...!

I really like D2 and wish GEC would make a few more knives in the 3.5" range with deeper handles (top to bottom). Much as I like the Pony Jack and the TC Barlow I'm after something with a 3.5" long frame and a bit more 'meat'.

Any reason not to go for the Gunstock (my first Queen too)? I'm leaning towards the zebra wood:)

I've been pleased with my Queen D2 knives. You do have to work on them with a diamond, which is annoying, but they reward you.

One of my favourite patterns is the Teardrop liner lock(3.85") I have the ACSB, BEM and Zebra variants. Pleased too with the Serp Jack ( an excellent small 3.25" knife) The Copperhead liner lock 3.75 (a LOT of broad Clip blade on this one) and the small 3" Lockback which is shadow and in Zebra Wood.

I think you'll like the Gunstock provided you're familiar with the pattern (I don't so much care for it myself) if not try an RR first, their Gunstocks are very similar.

Regards, W

I have a Queen gunstock with the amber honey bone. It is a great knife. I had to sharpen the blades a bit, but now they are shaving sharp and easy to maintain.

I would not hesitate to buy this knife again.

Thanks both.

I do like my #76 Outlaw Jack by GEC but would like bit more grip on the butt. Sounds like the Queen could be the ticket:)

Mine needed sharpening, but it's definitely a looker. Feels good in the hand too.

I don't have a lot. Just two, and both were Collabs (Pardue, and Burke with Queen).

I had to fix blade wiggle on both, and gaps on one.

I am carrying both today, right now, so I do like them.

They are ground a bit thicker/stouter than my GEC's.

If you are ok with the stouter blades, I think the steel makes it worth it.

Of course, I don't set the bevels on mine by hand! I use a belt sander, so it goes quickly!

I've got this one......

It's a well made knife, great walk and talk,.....but.....because it's a gunstock pattern, the butt end cuts into my palm. I like a knife that has a rounded butt, more like Queen's Copperhead.

I agree, that's why I have reservations about this pattern. Still, different hands......

Nice examples, thanks for thoughts. Kind of what I thought, regarding the butt of the knife.

The decision has been made for me as someone posted a Shing slipjoint on British Blades I couldn't resist
