Good Evening,

Does anyone have any experience with a queen mini hunter (linerlock) that has a reasonable pull to it? The last queen I had was the biggest nail buster of my life and regularly cut me due to half stops and that roid'ed up spring. I hated how it cut me almost once every three days but can't forget about how perfect is was in size, shape, and everything else that comes to mind. I even made a little sheath for it and carried it as a fixed blade for a bit but felt ridiculous and sold it off. Strongly giving it a second thought though.

Have you looked at the Case Russlock or their Cooper lock. Kinda on the same line. Canal Street Cutlery has a Halfmoon trapper you may want to take a look at. I don't remember who makes it but there is a large SodBuster with a liner lock.

I've had or handled all of what you mentioned and I gotta say they fall short of the Queen Mini-hunter in my opinion, the Queen just fit my hand perfectly and had the ideal blade size and shape. I like the handle/blade ratio; enough handle to be very comfortable and power down on, with a nice small stout and controllable blade. It was like a sheepsfoot blade on a buck 309 but better in the hand and pocket.

If you have a seller that would hand pick one for pull, that would be the way to go.A major gun show would likely have a dealer with some you could handle. There is really no way to soften the spring without taking the knife apart that i know of.As far as a similar knife,i believe Camillus made one quite similar.Still pop up in the bay once in awhile.

^That. There should be a reputable online dealer or two that'll be willing to check one for you, and/or allow you to return it, if it's not up to your liking. Ask 'em in advance.

That sounds good. Know of any who would do that?

I have one I have used twice for two orders (4 knives in one order, and 5 in the 2nd order). He responds very quickly to emails, and I would bet you a dollar he would pick you a nice one.

Great prices, and very very fast shipping! Both orders shipped the next morning (ordered very late at night).

There are a few others that have an excellent reputation and quite a few posts in the feed back forum about both (all positive).
I have no way to send you a private message. I am not sure I am able to post the sites here. You have no contact options turned on. You can email me, and I will be happy to suggest.
