Does anyone have a photo or own both knives? Is the Mini Hunter any bigger than the Copperhead? They "look" like the same blade but I can't tell.

I can't find the specs right now, but I remember looking at the two as a gift for my dad, I bought him the copperhead, and I believe, but can't swear they the same size, 3.75.

If I'm not mistaken, one is a liner locking blade (hunter), the other isn't (copperhead). Yes, both are 3.75.

I have both. Frame sizes and shapes are identical, 3-3/4". The blades are a tad different, the clip is carried further back towards the handle on the copperhead along with the nail nick. The blade is just a smidgen more in height on the Mini Hunter. This gives a bit sharper pointed profile to the copperhead, a more rounded end of the blade with some more belly right behind the point on the hunter. I like both of these knives, but I am a copperhead fancier anyways. Here's a couple of pictures that might be helpful, the Queen 41L and 41 together opened and then with two other copperheads for comparisons of sizing and shapes.

Phil,
Great explaination.

How much thicker is the Mini-Hunter to the Cooperhead?
How strong is the liner lock?

Super critique on both Phil, as well as some great photography. You can really follow along word for word with the pics side by side. Very informative indeed. I too am a big fan of the Copperlock pattern. Hands down, its my favorite locking slipjoint pattern of all.

Here is a shot of my 41L in D-2 & Abalone..

Thickness of the hunter is only one liners thickness greater than the copperhead model. It's really barely noticeable without looking very closely. The lock should be fairly strong, as the blade tang is square because of the half stop function of the hunter; the stainless locking liner has a pretty good area to bear against. I wish Queen would make some two bladed copperheads again, I would love to have one in stag or amber stag bone with the D2 blades.

If your shopping online, sometimes folks will a picture of one or the other for both items, Cumberland has the mini-hunter's pic for the copperhead in the Amber Bone series. A copperhead is my next purchase.

Sunnyd - how is that abalone treating you? It sure is sharp looking. I'm tempted to get one, just unsure about durability - I know nothing about abalone.
