Queen Mountain Man bolster and scales gap

Hello everyone I have been carrying a queen MM for several months and over time I have come to notice that one of the bolsters has slightly pulled up and away from the scale. Is this a result of natural use or some sort of defect. I don't believe it was there when I bought the knife. The gap isn't as thick as a business card but thick enough for a few sheets of paper. Could I fix this or should I just not bother?

First, Welcome to the traditional forum!
What material are the covers made from? I would suspect that the covers shrank a tad from the dryer air most of us are having this time of year, but this is pure speculation not having any details or a photo.

If this loads properly you will see the space I am talking about. The handles are Queen's Amber Carved Stag bone.

Is the gap between the handle material or the brass? Some of us refer to the brass liners as liners.

The gap is between the scale and the bolster. If you copy and past the url the picture should load.

I tried to look at your pic, but not successful ( google didn't recognize the location). To post pics here, you need to upload them to a host site, like photobucket, then link the image into a post. I've seen a gap like that, very small, on a Queen knife before, and it didn't affect the function of the knife one bit. I don't know if bone can swell and shrink with time and moisture, the bolster and blade should be held in place by the pivot pin, so it seems unlikely that the bolster has moved, anything is possible though depending on circumstances. Maybe the gap was there all along and you are just noticing it?
