Does anyone know how´s the grind in the D2 blade of the Queen Mountain Man Lockback? Hollow or flat? I really prefer flat grinds in such type of folders.
I like the pattern, and the lock back gets -for me- the right balance between traditional look and safety. So, can you tell me any other model - carbon steel flat ground blade, jigged o carved bone handle, lock back and old styled- that compares to the Mountain Man?
And finally, best place to buy on line?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Sevilla, I'm not sure what the grind is on the D2 Mountain Man, I don't think it's a hollow grind, but I can't say for sure. This is one of my favorite knives, and if you really want that classic old-time look, go with the "carved stag bone" handles. The best place I have found to buy them online is from Bill Horn at Cumberland Knives.

He's a great guy to deal with.

I lived in Sevilla many years ago, it is one of the most beautiful cities in the world. If you get a mountain man, check out Bill's Queen Classics, he has them in Sambar stag. I got one about a month ago, can't get any better! Get one you'll love it!

As the others have mentioned, Bill at Cumberland Knife Works is tops to deal with. He is also the definitive source to answer your question. Shoot him an e-mail, I know he'll be able to tell you what you want to know! :)

Take care,

Matthew

Talk to Bill. He will handpick one for you after you tell him what you are looking for. Great guy to deal with. I have been eyeing those MM lockbacks myself and he has a nice selection of special order ones.

Well you guys did it again. :D Seems like everytime I check out this forum I end up ordering something. I ordered a Mountain Man from CKW in red stag and D2. I just couldn't resist. I've been wanting to get a D2 Queen for awhile now. Thanks for the link.
