I just got a couple new Queens in the mail. A Cocobolo Muskrat and a Stag Bone Stockman. The Muskrat is beautiful. The fit and finish is excellent and the backspring is extremely strong. Anyone have a Muskrat in their daily rotation? I can't wait to take it out. The Stockman I am a bit dissapointed in. The fit and finish is pretty good. my only two complaints are 1. the stag bone looks as though it has a slight hairline crack running along the top from one bolster to almost the other bolster. I may be mistaken and it could just be a normal imperfection. 2. the stag bone has a slight gap where it meets the bolster on one side. The space is almost wide enough to fit my finger nail in. What does everyone think? Are these normal imperfections? Other than that, both knives are great. Am I being too critical?

Thanks,

Scott

The "crack" in the stag bone could be the natural grain or coloring - or of course it could be a crack. If its not at a pin, it probably is the grain. That gap at the bolster should not be there, that is a defect, although it is probably only "cosemtic" rather than functional. If that really is a crack, though, I would send it back.

I have the muskrat in both carved stag bone and in cocobolo. They are in my "for sale" assortment, not my EDC rotation. For carrying I have the Queen D2's in a 2-blade small serpentine jack, a large 4 blade congress and a whittler.

The muskrats are super quality, nice and slim with a strong spring. Probably the slimmest knife that you could carry and still get two good sized blades.
