Is there a way to tell what steel is used in Queen Cutlery knives? I've had my eye on a stag barlow at my local shop. Hoping it's D2, but would like to know for sure. Is there a blade stamp or something I can look for? Thanks.

i don't know about all of them, but on my D2 copperhead it says PH-D2 under the queen stamp.

it would also say "Tool Steel" on the blade etching.

Mine say "tool steel" as the bottom line of the etch.

Same here PH-D2 under the stamp and tool steel on my trapper. It isn't marked but it is 1095. There was a forced patina on it but I took it off with silver polish. It has a sort of blueish look to it.
