I have a Queen 69DK coming in the mail, hopefully soon. It’s a single blade Jack with the tough looking fat Queen spear, white (I’m assuming Delrin) scales, and a red shield. It’s a little scuffed up so it will be a user but I use all of mine anyway.

Do any of you guys recall when these were made? Or any other specifics about them?
I haven’t been able to turn up much of anything about them online.

Interesting. I may have been looking at too recent of catalogs in my search for info. Thank you

Please post a photo when she arrives. I was unaware that Queen remade any "Dollar knives " do you think it's older?

Dave

Here’s a screenshot from the ad.
I have to believe it was a modern reissue just from the condition, appearance of the scale material, and relative in expense.

I have looked fairly extensively online and can’t find anything in a catalog or advertisement aside from one other sale listing that may have been the same knife. I don’t know, I guess I will at least have some hands on experience in a few days when it shows up.

I believe you are correct! I had forgotten that remake that Queen had produced. If memory serves, they were made in the early 2000 and came in 2 covers, white and black horn. Not sure if the horn was real or synthetic.

Original Dollar Knives were made from 1922-1926 and had the "Dollar Knife Corp. Atlanta" tang stamp, as an SFO, and the knives were made in Titusville, PA at the S&M factory. VP of the company was CB Morgan, co-owner of Schatt & Morgan.
From approx 1926-1933 the knives used the "D.K.Corp Titusville" tang stamp.
Beginning in 2003, Queen started to used the etch on a few different releases over the years, usually with a S&M tang stamp.

Good info. Part of what drew me to the knife in question was my happening across some info on the original Dollar Knife Co. The bit I read indicated that initially the DKC was a store brand for a small hardware in Oklahoma City. After a couple years they folded up and the company in Atlanta picked up the name. I found it interesting being an Okie and being into early Oklahoma history.

It took some digging but I found this from a few years ago.....
Its ivory Delrin with a red shield.

Thanks again. That’s very helpful. And it seems you were spot on with your memory in the first reply!
LOL I almost bought one when were first offered...Bought a bone handled Queen locking teardrop in D2 instead.....That was early in 2004 I think....
Not sure about the D2 though. Queen D2 was done by Peters Heat treating, not in-house, so if it is D2 it will be marked as such with PH and D2.
If its not marked, its probably 420HC like other Queen knives.

Well the mailman was finally good to me.
Beautiful little knife. Fit and finish right there with any GEC I’ve ever owned. Only minor issues are the blade is very slightly off center and the spring isn’t quite flush in the half position. It’s not been sharpened though the slightly scuffed bolsters suggest to me that it has been carried or possibly it sat in the console of a vehicle or maybe laid loose in a drawer and slid back and forth enough to cause the slight marring. Pull is perfect to me, very stiff and snappy.
Wish it were larger but it’s hard to tell from a photo with nothing to compare it to and nothing in the description. Still a very nice pocketknife.

These were made specially for a Queen Show, back in the early 2000s!!!
They made these three versions, and I was lucky enough to get all three!!
Alas, I no longer own them!

All the handles are plastic/synthetic!!DollarBook.jpg
The book showed up some years later!!!

Wow! That’s neat. Would love to read the book but I’m sure they don’t grow on trees either.
