I'm new to this forum. I've gone from Rough Rider to Case to Queen to Schatt&Morgan to Great Eastern. All folders. What brand should I explore next? I do like Great Easterns the best so far. I was collecting but not carrying the best knives. Ran into some $ problems and sold most of the knives I liked best because they were still mint. Now I'm buying again but this time I'm putting them right into my pocket and carrying them around for a month or so. That puts enough wear on them so I'm not tempted to sell them. My question is, what would be the next brand I should try out ? The smallest size folder I would buy and carry is 3 3/4", the largest would be 4 1/4". I'm not crazy about stainless, and I prefer bone to wood or acrylic. If anyone has time I would appreciate any recommendations. Many thanks.

Boker has the most consistent quality and most affordable pricing. The Case knives I've purchased recently have been exceptionally nice, but I picked them out in person at a dealer. Canal Street Cutlery is worth checking out. AG Russell has a line of traditional pocketknives, if you like the patterns that have been released so far.

Any interest in fixed blades with traditional patterns and materials? Queen, Canal Street, Northwoods, Bark River, Grohmann, Boker-Arbolito. Since there are fewer parts to a fixed blade, and no moving parts, fit-and-finish is less of an issue.

Thanks Bob.I do have a $30 Boker Congress with derlin scales that takes a edge better than anything else I own.I have other nice Bokers too. For now Scagels are out of my budget.I've seen Canal Street at shows but don't know much about them, but they looked good. Thanks for the answer.

You might come by and spend some time with us in the Traditional Forum. Lots of talk about lots of different makers of traditional knives.

I agree on Canal Street, Boker, and AG Russell, who I can mention as a dealer since he has a dealer membership here on BF.

Come on by,
