Just found my A.G. Russell catalog - oldest boy beat me to the mail. Anyway I was looking through it and thought I saw a Schrade 33OT, but it was the Queen Serpentine Jack. Always liked the old Schrades and this Queen looks really nice. Any feedback on them? Anyone else think they look a lot alike?

Thanks - Pat.

I have an old Queen Serpentine Jack Winterbottom Bone from the 70s, it's one of my favorite patterns and it was one of the knives that got me into collecting old queens.

I have a newer Queen Stockman in D2 the D2 his a great edge and for a long time, it can be a bit of a pain to sharpen free hand but the point is not to let it get too full in the first place.

In contrast the older Serpentine Jack takes a razor edge very easily, even holds up well under daily use but if you put it away without a thin cost of oil it will stain and the edge always needs a touch up on the strop to polish off the layer of oxide that develops and send to fill the edge slightly.

This isn't a new knife produced since the Daniels family took over Queen is it?

I haven't used any of the knives built since they took over, I'm gonna hafta check AGs New catalog now. :)

After looking at AGs current offering it definitely looks like the Schrade Old Timer, it was made since the Daniels family took over and is made with the D2, keep up on the edge when it first starts to feel full and you'll be fine with a few licks on a strop every once in a blue moon.

It's a great pattern and if you get it you'll hafta let us know what you think.

If you mean the pattern #2 ACSB, I have one that I EDC and its a great knife. A nice small knife for every day. I rotate it with my Queen #48 ACSB (which is still my favorite).

I found a #2 Queen serpentine in bird's eye maple last year and snagged it, I love that jack knife! It fits perfectly in my jeans' coin pocket and is a handy little slicer.
