This little fella is 3 1/4" closed, in Amber Carved Stag Bone. Wasn't quite sure what to think of the carved "stag" bone when ordering - thought it might look tacky or cheap - but now that I have it, I like it. I generally don't like a handle material that tries to look like something it's not, but for some strange reason this is growing on me - a lot! ;)

I knew that Queen D2 had a reputation for coming butter-knife sharp, and this one was no exception. So as expected I was "forced" (:D) to buy some diamond hones. Got a DMT 6" Extra Coarse bench stone coming, and one of the DMT Diafold coarse/fine folding ones.

Got the same knife -took a long time to track one down-and I like it a lot. It even arrived sharp, gasp! :D
Although the tip of the pen blade leaves something to be desired, not pointy:grumpy:

Don't let the name of these scales put you off, it's one of the best Queen has offered recently, it looks and feels good. Much better than BEM or Zebra in my view. The Serp Jack is a tidy knife with a lot of appeal and mine was extremely well finished bar the tip-but that's easy to fix.

I recommend you try more of these scales.

Regards, W

Keith, I think that the premium jack pattern is one of the true classics.
I've always been intrigued with that little knife from Queen. The only thing that held me back was the relatively small size compared to most I carry. (I've since accumulated some in that range.)

I'll bet it'll be a joy to carry and use once it's received a proper sharpening!

I've a few in the amber stag bone and I think they do a nice job with it.

I have one of these as well. It gets pocket time. :)

Thanks for the comments so far, guys.

I played around with the hones I do have, and got a (barely) acceptable edge on the blades. Not quite as "butter knife dull" as I had first thought, just a more obtuse angle than I ever encountered before. She'll lop off a few hairs now, but certainly not shave them. Lookin' forward to the diamonds!

Queen's been doing that pattern for awhile now. It's a true classic. Here's a picture of my granddad's 1958 Queen. It's either Delrin or Bone, winterbottom jigging, but with the same serpentine jack pattern @ 3 1/4".

I've got two of that pattern in Winterbottom delrin.

And one in Winterbottom bone.

It's a great little pattern.

I actually like Queen's amber stag bone and the Serpentine looks like it would be very pocket friendly. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

That is a really attractive knife. The pen blade really stands out on that one, and I really do like it. Congrats on a great purchase!

This is the CSB Carved Stagbone (white), the series before Amber ACSB
It has a wonderful gray patina and the bone has 'aged' with use.

I also like having the nail nicks on the same side with this Jack knife.
Do they do this pattern in Zebra yet, anyone know?

Willgoy, I've seen the stockman on the same 3.25" frame in zebrawood, but not yet on the jack.
