Queen steel 85 reprofile

I have an older queen steel #85 trout and small game knife that needs a good edge put on it. Any recommendation on angle to use? 12 degrees?

I'm kind of surprised you haven't had much feedback on this so far.

Most decent knife steels can handle anything down to 12°-15° per side. The older 'Queen Steel' blades were 440C, which should handle that. If the knife will be used for normal, non-abusive work, it should be fine. Heavy use in tough or abrasive materials might warrant an edge angle a bit wider (15°-20° per side). Shouldn't have to go any wider than that.

Thanks, great info. I was also curious on the steel type so double the knowledge.
