My interest in traditional multi-blade folders is on the rise. The top two contenders for my next have-to-have are the D2 series from Queen and some of the 4 blade congress & stockman patterns that Henckels offers.

How does Queen's D2 compare to Henckels "Solingen Carbon Steel"? What about fit and finish? Walk and talk?

I'd imagine it's pretty heavy in the pocket, but this Henckel's stockman sure looks interesting:

But these might make better EDC's (lighter in the pocket):

I think I've been pouring over the Knifecenter site a bit too much lately... :S

Thank in advance for any comments.

That stockman is the one I would go with.Henckels have pretty good steel in them from my experience.Looks to have the bang for the buck also.I like it so much I think it is a "must" have for one of my EDC's.:)

I'm big stockman fan too. I have the Queen Stockman in D2 w/Cocobolo and I think it is awesome, the Henckels does look nice and a great price on it too. Another vote for the Henckels out of those 3!

My experience is that "Solingen carbon steel" is pretty ordinary stuff..I have found it easy to sharpen, and quick to need re-sharpening.

Some D2 is very good steel, indeed! I have a Knives of Alaska cleaver in D2 which acts almost like INFI...I have a Queen trapper which is also D2 but is not nearly the blade the Alaska is.

Still, having owned several of each brand, I would take the Queen product any day.

My Henckels stockman is pretty good in the F&F department. Overall feel and quality is slightly inferior to my Queen D2 cocobolo stockman.

The walk and talk is superior on the Queen.
