So, I thought I would branch out from my usual Case, Buck, and Schrade routine and ordered my first Queen, since I'm from PA and so are they. I have a Workhorse Canoe inbound - 1095 and Delrin Winterbottom. Does anyone else have one? It will be not only my first Queen, but also my first canoe.

Have an 80's Case canoe and it is OK. If using the small blade and gripping hard, can push the large blade over and can bind up on closing ON THIS KNIFE. May not be the same for all canoes...
$ for $, I think Queen makes some of the best factory folders. They don't come with the best edge but mine work great and last.

Been cogitating on buying something from the workhorse line.
Let us (me) know how you like this one.

Well, this was disappointing. I'm sure that what I received was probably just a fluke, but I have to say that I'm surprised with what Queen sent out, even though it is a budget knife. Both blades rub, both blades sit high enough in the frame that I can catch them with my finger pad, the exposed pins aren't nice and dome-shaped, but kind of rough and mushroom shaped to the point that I get my fingernail under them, the main blade has wobble, and both blades have inconsistent, weak snap. I know Queen makes good knives from what everyone here says, so I don't know why this one turned out the way it did.

Any one of these issues I could overlook, and none of them are truly "defects" per se, but I'm really surprised at what I ended up with.

I've contacted the seller to see about a return.

Sorry to hear it, because they are so capable of making a great knife. A good seller should take care of you, though.

It's all good. Heard from seller. He said he has seen several of these come back to him for similar reasons. Looks like I'll be mailing it back tomorrow.

It's disappointing to hear that Queen would send something like that to a dealer, but I'm glad the dealer is taking care of it.

i picked up a Queen small stockman recently...

while the knife is very good, it wasnt so out of the box. had to file the kicks, ball peen the main pivot, and profile the snot out of it. once all the adjusting was done i really like the knife, but i cant fault anyone for being disappointed in their purchase.

reminds me of my Glock 81, great knife once you perform what the factory should've done...

I suppose I can expect the knife to not be as finely finished as Queen's other lines, since it is marketed as a budget product, and I don't mind doing little things like filing kicks and so on, but this one was just too much.

I've found that with Queens and nearly all production slipjoints it's best sometimes to hand pick yours in person. Queen can make a great knife but QC isn't always up to snuff IMO. But still I love the company and the knives. The Canoe is a grand general use pattern as far as I'm concerned. Their Delrin has a unique texture to it that really sets it apart from the competition.
