I am debating buying either a Cocobolo Small Stockman or a Serpentine Jack with D2.
Which do you think is the better knife for EDC (weekend use/dog walking etc)
and what do you think of the D2 steel (I don't want it to rust!)
Thanks guys

Either pattern would work fine, if it were me, I would take the Stockman over the small Jack, but that's just a personal preference.

D2 is great, holds an edge really well, and is fairly rust resistant. I am at around 6-7 Queens in D2 and my routine is to wipe the one I am carrying down with Rem-Oil or Inox oil once a week normally or as soon as possssible after the blade gets water or blood on it.

That seems to keep them rust free.

One thing to watch D2 for, it doesn't "rust" in the same sense as regular high carbon steel, it tends to more develop small black "pits" if left to long.

I'd get a stockman, too. The knife is no thicker than a 2-blade jack, but you get 3 blades (one's a sheepsfoot - very useful) riding on two springs.

Queen's D2 is great. You won't be disappointed. I've recently gotten hooked on it, and there's no turning back!

Although, you may still want to check out Case's CV steel. It's also great!

Peace.
Alex.
