Here is what I came up with for a quench tank. (200+ KB picture) http://members.door.net/matlocks/image1.jpg
It is a parts washer from harbor freight that I had NIB for over a year and had no parts to wash in it. I took out the metal shelf that was supplied with tub and replaced it with expanded metal so I would get maximum circulation around the blade. If you look carefuly you will notice that the tub is tilted slightly. This serves 2 purposes. 1. it gave me a varying depth of oil so I could figure out what position in the tank was at 1/3 depth on a blade and just quench in that spot
2. there is a hole on the right side of the tank where the wiring for the pump comes in and if you fill the tank up to where you have about an inch of oil over the shelf it leaks (ask me how I found that out
) The nice thing about it is that when It is time to put it up for the day i just use the pump to put some of the oil back into the gas can that I store it in without any mess.
