I ordered two customs from Petes. One on 6/22 and about 6/29.
The ques is how long does it actually take a fellow to put one of these together from start to finish ? How many can they put out in one day? I think I read that Buck added
another person to assist in putting these knives together due to the
number being ordered. With the summer closure, I suspect, I will
have a wait of six weeks to two months. This seems a tad silly. You
can actually have a knife MADE in that length of time. I assume you
do not actually MAKE them, but assemble them, per customer request.
Don't misunderstand. I am delighted that Buck offers this service.
I can't wait to see the two I ordered. It does however strike me that
Buck nuts would order quite a few more if the time frame was more
reasonable. Like two weeks. Frequently people purchase knives
impulsively, the quicker the gratification the more likely they are
to make the purchase. If one had to wait a year for a custom Buck,
I don't think we would be having this dialog. Ideally, I would order
a knife and ten minutes later it would POP out of my printer.
I can't think of any company that makes
a better product and allows for this type of exchange with its customers.
I thank you for your time.
