I am pretty excited about taking possession this knife. Ever since I met Mike at the 2011 Boise Show I have considered him top notch as a maker and a person. He is always willing to give me help with my endeavors as a struggling new maker, always keeping me positive and moving forward.

I also had the privilege of meeting Paul Long at his home in 2010 during a Hog Hunting trip in Texas. I knew he was the correct choice for a knife of this caliber and he did not disappoint!

It is a takedown, and I have broken it down numerous times. I am in awe at the detail and quality Mike puts into his knives!

Wow! The knife and sheath are both knockouts! What a superb package. Congratulations for sure.

that's a keeper!
great photos, as always.

Congrats Ryan. A great piece from a great maker and purchased by a great guy. That piece is probably one of, if not my absolute, favorite of Mike's knives.

Really a good score. And Paul did a great job on the leather.

Thanks everyone! I feel pretty lucky to have it.

John you are next! ;) Funny thing is I met you only a few minutes before I met Mike at the same Boise show!!

Wow. Beautiful, elegant Bowie. And a VERY nice sheath!

Kind regards,

Jos

Nice Ryan!! Mike did an outstanding job on that for you:thumbup: I need to see that one in person someday.

Hope you're feeling better.

Great post. Thanks and congrats!

I'm going to start by complimenting Paul's sheath. The two-tone combination and the variety of patterns is extraordinary. Paul's work always makes me smile, this one has me grinning in appreciation.

All I need to do is focus on Mike's consistent and measured pattern on the coin spacers to understand how well made this is. One deviation and it would jump out and scream 'imperfect'. (Well, I'd lessen that to handmade.)

That didn't happen. He used tools to measure and scribe, or I'll eat my hat. As he should have. These attention to details elevate this from great to exceptional.

Nice.

Ryan, your photography skills are top notch. You captured the "attitude" I intended for the knife perfectly. Paul's work is stunning as always. Thanks for all the kind words.

Ryan, I'm glad you like the knife.

You are right Ryan. Mike is a top notch maker and just a great guy to have in your corner . and this knife is a great example of just how clean and sweet his work is I love the dark warm overall look and the sheath goes great with it. Nice score.

Great Knife Mike, your work as always is top notch. Fittings, guard and hamon are all really amazing. Paul Long did a wonderful job complimenting it with the sheath. Huge congrats on that on Ryan! Can't wait to see it in person sometime.

Be well,
Eric

 That is an amazingly fine package.... I love that blade profile! Proud owner? For sure
