I've found on QuesTek's website (QuesTek.com) that they recently commercialised a new stainless steel especially designed for knife blade applications; *Ferrium M60S*. As far as they say, it is a very strong stainless steel...
I would like to know if someone has more information than what QuesTek provided in their two little (and too little! :footinmou ) pdf documents on their website.
In one pdf document, it is mentioned that the M60S has Charpy C-Notch value > 20 ft.lbs. Though, it's not mentioned if it's for longitudinal or transverse toughness. IF this value is for the transverse toughness, it would therefore mean that M60S is twice as tough as S30V (transverse toughness of S30V@58HRC = 10 ft.lbs.)!!!
If anybody has more info about M60S, I would appreciate to get it.
