So, we pretty much have a consensus.. it is absolutely wrong.. and some would say immoral to sell a knife as "new" or "apparently new" if you yourself purchased the knife used.. sent it to the spa.. and then did not disclose that fact.. My question to you my friends and fellow CRK addicts.. is this..
Should the seller be exposed for the fraud he or she is committing.. or should we remain silent?

Well Dave I believe this is an ethical concern with the individual(s). Maybe a PM to the individual stating that you know it's being misrepresented and that they should disclose that. If the individual declines to disclose this fact then at that point IMO something should be said publicly.

Just my $0.02

I think the answer at your question is in the thread "the goods and the bads"

That's what feedback is for. Once your rep is tarnished, it's impossible to get back. Whine and Cheese is a good place to vent about this, not here on the CRK forum page............I once traded a beautiful small unique regular that was mint mint mint for a small silver dog paws that was promised Mint. When I got it, it was far from mint and was scuffed throughout. I pm'ed the individual, but they just blew it off. I was highly pissed and still am when thinking about it. That individual would never get anything from me again. I got burned to say the least. I don't believe they are on here any longer, but if I saw them wanting to do business with me or anyone else, I would let them know who they are dealing with.

As was pointed out the Feedback forum would be the place to do this. Just make sure all ducks are in a row before posting there.

If you believe the failure to disclose was done purposely with the intent to take some extra dough from someone's pocket, you then have an ethical obligation to tell and protect the BFC community.
If it was an aberration, something you feel strongly was more of an omission rather than a commission maybe attempting resolution via E-mail is the best way to begin resolving this.

I appreciate your input as always Andre!! I have made the point.. and it was not corrected.
To clarify I am not the victim.. but someone else will soon be.. so my concern is not for me but for someone else.

Very good point my friend, however the knife was not and is not for sale here on BladeForums... as I told Andre I am not the victim.. I just hate to see someone else taken advantage of..

I agree with you 100% Buck!! But in this case I have nothing to do with buying or selling.. I am like the witness to a crime that is about to be committed.. So, do you stand by and do nothing or do you step in and try to worn the victim?

You are absolutely correct Dennis.. but as I said in my response to Buck.. I am not the victim but a witness to the act.. an act of fraud IMHO.. I JUST HOPE IT IS NOT ONE OF US...

Agree and would add that a private outreach is needed first - but you apparently already did that. Again, make sure all your ducks are in a row and that you can really prove it if/when a $hi7storm blows up.

Thank you wolfmann601.. it is not an omission.. well yes it is an omission but done initially.. and yes I did call the seller out so to speak. You have to also take into consideration, I guess anyway that we all look at things differently.. but to me and from the posts on both threads most of us.. a knife that has had the spa treatment is not an "New" knife.. but especially if you are paying big bucks for what you think is a new knife and it is not.. as I said I am neither the buyer or the seller... just a witness.

So, I guess we are done here.. thank you for all the advice!! and again thanks for reading one of my not so long this time boring posts.
All the best, Dave
