QUESTION 940's with the Blue Handle QUESTION

I know Benchmade did a KOTM in 10/2000 of a 940 with a Blue Handle. Did they do any others. There was one one on eBay recently that indicated it was a Limited Edition #22. I saw another one listed on a forum recently that had a black blade with nothing special noted on the blade. Can anyone clarify for me. A few years back a fellow had blue handles advertized on eBay that he did himself and I want to stick with originals from Benchmade. I sent an email to Benchmade customer service and never got a reply. Thanks for any replys!

Ron, there were a few different runs of the blue handled 940's. The biggest run being the KOTM release in 2000.
There was another darker blue 940 that was part of a set that came with a blue pen iirc.
There was also a small (50?) run of blue handled 940's with bc1 or bt coating on the blade.
I have seen 940's online recently where people have swapped either the blade or the handle on the knives and then sell them as this or that. Whether or not they are being deceitful or just misinformed I don't know.
I'm not a know all about 940's but maybe somebody else will have specifics.
