I need a 0560. That is all there is to it. My life will not be complete until I have one. However, I cannot seem to find one with a partial serrated blade. Do they not offer such an option on this model?? If it is not something they normaly do, how about requesting one from them? I know most of you guys are not fans of serrations, but they are a must for an EDC knife for me. I use the heck out of my serrated edges at work, and would love to have a 0560 to use and abuse on the job as well..... :D

they have not released a combo edge version yet. Some sites have taken preorders for partially serrated knives but kershaw has not made any yet.

There are some company's and people here on the forum that can do after market serrations as well.

I had considered that option also. Would much rather get one with factory serrations, as getting it done afterward might void the warranty.

I wonder if that is full or partial serrated. It does not specify. No big deal I reckon. It will probably have to wait until Christmas anyway.

Thinking about starting a new thread gauging interest in a combo edge 0560. Maybe if enough people respond positively we can get a dealer on board....

ZTs do not come in full serrations, never have from what I've seen.

Serrations have their place, and right style of serration makes a big difference. But 99% of what I do doesn't need them and won't benefit from them. Not a fan for general use knives, of course thats largely because most serrations are not done "right" in my opinion. If I want a saw I'll use a saw, these are knife serrations, not saw teeth.

ZT/Kershaw at least have the right idea with convex instead of concave serrations, but still way too fine. Think more like 1/4" plus length per serration. But that's my view... Back to your regularly scheduled progamming. :D

You are right about that. Both Kershaw scalloped serrations and CRKT's veff serrations actually cut, not just tear.
I have been carrying a Salvo 2445ST for a few weeks now, and the serrations were much better then I thought they would be. I carried a M21-12g as my primary EDC before I really got into knives, and I found that I really like cutting with just the veff serrations. They are ground very thin, so they can be very sharp, and I have found them to easily cut anything that needs cutting. Granted they are rather fragile, so are Kershaw's scalloped serrations....

I bet you might think differently if you carried one for a week. ;)

If I ever buy one, I will give that a shot....

I have never seen the Kershaw "scalloped" serrations up close, so I cannot comment on them. I can, however, tell you that the serrated part of my Gerber 06 is unstoppable, I have cut some really insane stuff with that knife, the worst probably being a one inch wire rope. I actually needed the help of a hammer for that one (I know, WTF was I thinking, but it did work). Anyway, the pattern Gerber uses for the 06 is great. Coupled with the s30v, it really makes for the best hard use and abuse auto I have found. I know the 0560 is not an auto, but it is close. Hopefully it can replace the 06 and be my new EDC work knife. I have been carrying my Severtech to work lately, but I cannot bring myself to punish it too much. Thus the reason I am getting the ZT..... :D

One more thing, fellas. Are the pocket clip and liner Ti or steel? I have searched a bunch and keep reading conflicting answers.

The liner and clip are steel.
However you can get a ti clip online.
Or get one made by STR.
I'm pretty sure you could have someone make a ti liner as well.

If that's what you wished to do.

I don't like serrations myself but if I had to have a knife with serrations, it would be a kershaw or ZT with the scalloped serrations(which I've owned and used before.)

Ahh......... I'd like to keep this one mostly stock. Kershaw seems to be a bit more strick about warranty repairs than Gerber is. Most mods will void the warranty. I would think a Ti clip would be okay though. I would also think a Ti clip would hold its shape better, right? Anyone know what kind of steel is used for the G10 liner side?

Thanks for the responses....
