I've got a chance to get a 44OT but i don't know very much about it. I read it was made 90-93, and a run in 2001. I know it is one of a very few 4 blade pattern old timer patterns. the knife is nib with all papers etc. anybody got an idea on production numbers?? this is the only one I've ever seen. any info would be appreciated. thanks, ahgar

I don't know about the production figures, but it can't be very high because that knife is very hard to find in that condition. The few that I have seen with the box generally go for more than $100.00, when they come up.

thanks for the info you guys gave me a fit of conscious. see my post "i'm an idiot"

I thought it was the only four bladed knife Schrade made, aside from the Swiss Army type and the Kamp-King. But, then I found the 947 Open Stock in the 1973 Shortline catalog the other day. It is hard to tell from the old line art just exactly which blades it as, but it definitely has 4 blades.
Need more research................and any sample knives in the 947 anyone cares to send me. :D :D

How was that for a Schrade grovel?
Dale

thanks for the info and yes that was an excellant schrade grovel. later, ahgar

Actually, there were several four blade knives made over the years. Look in the Catalog E.

Thanks Michael,
I looked at the E catalog after I posted and found there were indeed more!
