Question about `99 Commanders

Found one for sale here. Does anyone know if all the numbered ´99:s were made with thick liners?

And as I was a bit slow on the trigger for this great offer (if it had thick liners) I wonder which usual suspect got it? :p

I´ll be faster - one day I will own a ´98. You´ll see

Thanks for any replies,

/Colinz

I had a set of the 99 Commander and CQC7 and I didn't think they looked like my 98 but the guy I sold it to said it was. Not sure. I heard that some 99's have the thick liners.
michael :D

Yes I´ve read and heard the same, that some of the 99´s had thick liners. Anyone else out there know for sure?

Some 99s had the thick liners and thick grips like the 98. I have a 99 BTS with thin liners and thick grips and a 99 CN with thin liners and thin grips.

I have never handled a 99CN, but the 99BTS in my pocket now (with thick g10 and thin liners) I was not a ware of a thick liner thick g10 99.. but I woudl liek to be corrected :)

My $0.02:

I don't know if all the serialized '99s had the thick liners and scales but I do know that some '99 models did. Some '99s had thin liners, thin scales. And some had a little of each. In fact I have one '99 which has the thick scales, ONE thick liner and one thin one  I am glad the thick liner is the locking one though :D

I had posted with this same question some time back and I know that there is at least one other forum member with a similar one.

Hope this helps,
Mark

As the seller, I'll post some facts to help claify:

The liners are about 1/16", while the scales are 1/8". So which category does this Commander fall under?

If someone would also post the estimated value, given the above information I would greatly appreciate it. I'm having a little problem justifying the price to the seller. Thanks.

BTW, if anyone has a bali question, I'll return the favor.

Me and these measurments  I can never learn how the measurments in inches work. Is 1/16 liners the same as .062inches (or 1.57mm)?

That was what the thick liners were measured to be in another thread (thanks 2Sharp).

Guess it's the thick liners: 1/16=.0625".

Now, to figure out a good "street" price for this Commander.

I have a '99 Commander (all Black, un-serrated) that has the thicker liners !

And boy, does it open sweetly ! :D

One of the G-10 slabs are with BLS at the moment to be engraved with the Lethal Edge Logo. It should look good in some thicker G10. I can't wait for that to come back.

If you still got it I´ll take it for $150 (The price you mentioned over at the For Sale forum) :)

Well now, I compared 2 of my 99 Commanders. The black part serrated model (has the secondary detent) has thin liners and thin scales. The satin part serrated has BOTH thicker liners and thicker scales. No secondary detent. Super smooth and "clacks" when it locks up. Let the hunt begin for the 99s...
