If I could find one, NIB, S30V and carbon fiber, how much is she worth?
Thanks brothers.

Depends. They were discontinued due to QC issues but some specimens were fairly good, while others were pretty rough. And, IIRC, quite a few were sold as "notched seconds" at one of SFO's annual sales. MSRP was about the same as the current G-10 version, so street prices for new ones would have been about the same as well, around $40. The seconds probably sold for $10 or less.

Speaking from experience the factory seconds have serious flaws. I bought a second Cat, and while the blade was perfect (except for the damn notch/nick), the CF scale was trashed. I did up finding a QC approved Cat and the scales were fine. Now I have a S30V G10 Cat and a S30V CF (notched) Cat. Probably going to sell the CF.

If you're on the hunt for a S30V Chicago, stay far away from factory seconds.

On my hunt for Cat's the price tag for QC approved versions were over $100 on eBay. I would encourage you to try to find someone here to get one from so you can get good pics since the scales can be hit or miss.

The Sage I and Chaparral, both made by Spyderco's best maker in Taiwan and which have both better CF and consistently excellent fit and finish, are available for around $110. I would think that unless a smaller blade is required by law, if you're spending that kind of money you''d be better off with one of them.
