I was wondering if this is a proper lock up for a cqc. it does not seem to be as strong as many other folders i have. any info would help thanks.

it depends is the knife brand new? sometimes emerson knives need a bit of time to be broken in and allow for the lock to settle. ive never had any problems with them and ive owned 7 of them.
also can you take a better picture

It will take some time to settle into its correct position seeing as my Super Combat Karambit took abit of time before the linear lock finally settled in perfectly. From the looks of it your lock seems alright seeing as it is fitting in against the butt of the blade. you shouldn't worry about the CQC-7 being a weak folder cause it has been around for a while so it is a proven design.
