Question about a Horseman

So I've had my Emerson Horseman for about a month. It's a great knife, no doubt about it. I do have one complaint, though. The pivot screw keeps loosening. Not really sure what to do about it. I can get it at the sweet spot where the blade is centered but is still ok to flick out. If I go any tighter then it won't wave very easily. But when I do wave the knife out it will get more and more loose. I can tell in two ways. The blade gets floppy loose and it goes off center when closed. Not sure how common this is or if anyone knows what to do. Any info would be great. Thanks in advance.

While many will recommend BLUE Loctite, my #1 easy no mess solution is teflon tape / thread tape used by plumbers. Probably will cost you about $1.
Just take a really short strip - about 1/2" to 3/4" and wrap it around the starting threads of the pivot screw.

Then tighten to your preferred setting, and magically it will stay put!

It happens with about every other Emerson I get, when you use a big ol' pivot like EKI knives use, you tend to get a little more friction, it's just become clear to me haha.

You're going to want to use loctite, or just do what I did, thumb tighten everytime it becomes a problem.

When you use the loctite make sure to clean the threads of any sort of grease or oily residue then let it cure for 24 hours before you use it!

Thanks the for tips gentlemen. I'm gonna try the tape first then loctite if that doesn't work.

The tape will work, I put it on all my Emersons. Just wrap it around the pivot screw a few times so it makes a tight fit.
