Question about a knife.

My friend had a knife that I thought was really cool, but I don't know what it would be called. It was a long fixed blade knife, but the top was serrated. I've looked through various online stores and can't find any that resemble it. Anyone know?

Nevermind, I found it.

I've never heard of Alce knives. Any good?

I'm just curious, but what do you plan to use those serrations on the back for? Is it just the "coolness" factor?

I don't plan to use them on anything because I don't plan on owning one of these, perhaps I never made that clear. And yes, the whole reason for this thread was because I though my friend's knife was "cool." I hope there's nothing wrong with that.

I know, I was kind of joking with that one. :)

Whew!...Thank goodness. Sorry about that Evan!:foot:

I haven't been able to find anything out about Muela. If the steel is OK, it might be a good deal. Heck, Moras and Saks are inexpensive, well made, and everybody loves 'em!

There is nothing wrong with owning and enjoying a knife you think is cool.

Using it...thats a different story. Stuck out in the woods, for example, I would go with a Mora. It is not a cool knife. Its butt-ugly.

As my EDC I carry a Case peanut. Is it cool? No. It cuts things very well, though.

Do I like and want cool knives? Sure do!!!

Do you have a pic of the mora? You just reminded me that I'm going on my first camping trip in 3 weeks and it might be a good idea to have some type of fixed blade knife with me.

Mora knives are excellent knives for very little money.

For something cool I prefer my air conditioning system.

I don't have one Evan, but just about everybody says "cheap and reliable". The fellows over in the "Wilderness and Survival" forum (in "Training") are crazy for them.

Lots of fans of the Frost Clipper over there among the outdoorsy types.

Added: And like Dr Mudd says...very uncool looking. Though....maybe so uncool, that they are cool.....

Thanks for the info! I'll probably order a couple of these.
