Im not familiar with leatherman at all, but looking to get a small one for my keychain mainly for a small pair of scissors. I was looking at the micra and am wondering if there is a spring in the scissors to make them open on their own? Would appreciate if someone can weigh in that owns one and let me know how they cut. Or if maybe there is a different keychain multitool that is good quality out there. Looking to stay as small as possible. Thanks

If you have any questions about either feel free to ask.

I have both right here if you need any comparison pictures or anything like that.

Thanks for the pics im getting both. Do you know if there is another
Eathermsn with the belt clip type thing but bigger?

Yup, the Skeletool like Tjswarbrick said. Also the MUT, but that's more of a "mission specific" tool and is very large. There are currently three different model Skeletools to choose from. The Normal one, the CX model, and the SX model. I would say to go with either the Normal or CX model unless you want a diamond coated file like on the SX, but its on the outside of the tool. If you need explanations on the differences of the Skeletool line let me know.

Forgot to mention. If your looking for a medium to heavy duty Leatherman I believe there to be better options than the Skeletool unless the Carabiner clip is a must.

Yea im not really looking for anything super heavy duty. Just something to clip on to my wild river bag for fishing. Not guna be doing anything to crazy with it. Thanks for all the help guys

Does it have to be clipped on the outside of your bag? The Style CS/PS should be ok for that, but I would not trust a Skeletool to be clipped onto anything. The possibility is there to lose anything you clip onto the outside of your bag. Leathermans Carabiner does not inspire confidence for retention in my opinion. I would personally be afraid of loosing it. The Rebar is a great tool with a very large tool selection in a very reasonable size package. No scissors on the Rebar though, but if your carrying the Style CS or even the PS you will have scissors so that would cover your scissor needs. The deal and link I posted on the Rebar and Micra is literally the best deal you will find on the pair and if I didn't already have multiple's of both of those tools I would be all over it. Your going to pay around $20-$25 if you order just the Micra. For a extra $10 you get a full size Leatherman that in my opinion is the best Leatherman they have came out with in years! As always if you have any questions please feel free to ask. It's just much more satisfying to get the right tool for the job.

I have the style CS and the scissors are great. I think it's better than any SAK scissors because of its size. However, the blade on my style CS is disappointing. There a portion of the edge at the belly on my blade that keeps rolling. It also doesn't hold an edge for very long. When I carry the style CS it's usually in addition to a separate dedicated knife.

Actually, the carabiner works best on a key ring. It makes the CS a flat package that hangs in harmony with the keys, and if it detaches, it falls into your pocket.

It really is a great combo, and I am much conflicted over whether to go for it. Like the good captain, however, I already have mine and have run out of candidates for gift occasions (just about all my friends and relatives know what they will get from me ) I doubt it's a good investment opportunity, but such a good deal there must be some plausible reason to stock up.

IMO the Micra is a complete design home-run. Fantastic scissors and a host of handy tools that work well. Really durable as well. If I wanted a small MT to hang on the outside of a pack when fishing, I'd pair up the Micra and a sturdy carabiner clip via the Micra's key ring.
